Opening new section of Coast Path near Strete, South Devon.
The South West Coast Path owes its unique character
to natural processes. Our coastline would not look
so beautiful and dramatic if it wasn't for cliff
and beach erosion. The downside is that sometimes cliff
falls or landslips close sections of the Coast Path
and temporary inland diversions, which can occasionally
be quite lengthy, are put into place. In these instances,
always follow signing and information on the ground
or check out Temporary route changes for
up to date information.
The South West Coast Path managing partnership is
always striving to improve the experience for users,
and new and better sections are developed from time
to time. For further information see New
Path Sections.
