Accommodation: The Official Guide to the South West Coast Path
AccommodationThe Coast Path is blessed with a wide variety of accommodation within easy reach and to suit every taste and pocket. Summer can be very busy and so you are advised to book well in advance, especially if you require one-night stays, which can sometimes prove tricky. Choose to come in spring or autumn instead for greater flexibility. Luggage Transfers in partnership with the South West Coast Path Association maintain a website listing hundreds of places to stay close to the path that are willing to take walkers for a single night. As many of these establishments are small, they are not all inspected or graded by an official tourism organisation, but if complaints are received they have a system for removing listings. |

Most of these places are also listed in the annual guidebook published by the South West Coast Path Association. The book costs £8.50 (plus P&P), but is given free with membership (from £12.50). Other benefits of memberships are that you can access details about this accommodation direct from their website, you'll receive 2 newsletters, and for UK tax-payers the Gift Aid part of your membership goes towards path improvement projects. Many towns along the route have a Tourist Information Centre which can provide information and a booking service for local accommodation. |
